Introducing LIVE TALKS New York

I am thrilled to announce a partnership between Transom Bookshop and LIVE TALKS, who produces compelling on-stage conversations between writers, filmmakers, chefs, artists, leaders, comedians, musicians, and thought leaders. Until recently, they were only producing events in LA, but had aspirations to bring their talent back east.

Obviously New York City would be the top choice, right? Of all the places to host events in the area, did they choose Lincoln Center? Or the 92nd Street Y? Or the Strand or the Center for Fiction or the NYPL?

Nope. LIVE TALKS are coming to the Tarrytown Music Hall. And Transom Bookshop is honored to be their bookselling partner for all their events.

If you’re thinking: well, they picked Tarrytown because they’re bringing their B-team, then think again. Upcoming events will feature: Barbara Kingsolver, Ke Huy Kwan, Andy Serkis, Michael Lewis, and Amy Tan—by far the biggest literary lineup I’ve ever seen here in town. Most events include a signed copy of the book in the cost of the ticket, and additional signed books and merch will be available for sale at each event.

This is a huge vote of confidence for Tarrytown, a boon for Main Street businesses, and further validation that we live not just in a beautiful Hudson Valley village with a rich history, but a thriving arts town with a bright cultural future as well.
