Justin Townes Earle and the History of Americana Music

A members-only discussion with Rolling Stone journalist Jonathan Bernstein at the Tarrytown Music Hall on March 28, 2026 at 5pm

What Do You Do When You’re Lonesome

Jonathan Bernstein, with the full cooperation of the Justin Townes Earle estate, unravels in these pages a short but incredibly creative life, and reveals the backstories behind Justin’s greatest songs (“Mama’s Eyes,” “White Gardenias”) and what happened when it all fell apart while also capturing a shadow world of the neglected children of Nashville legends who wrestle with the legacies of their hard-living, road-weary, often absent parents.

About the Tarrytown Music Hall

The nonprofit Tarrytown Music Hall, listed on the National Register for Historic Places, is the oldest theater in Westchester, the 5th oldest in NYS (older than Carnegie Hall) and one of the oldest in the nation. While many US theaters were designed in the 1920’s as movie palaces, the Music Hall predates films. Only 6% of existing American theaters were built before 1900 and the Music Hall is one of them.
